- For moriyo/sama:-
- 1 cup moraiyo/samo
- 1 potato boiled and cut in cubed
- 3 cups boiling water
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp ghee/oil
- few curry leaves
- 1 1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
- 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
- as per taste Rock salt/sendha namak
- handful Roasted ground peanuts (optional)
- for aloo sabji:-
- 1 1/2 cups potatoes boiled, peeled and cubed
- 2 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 green chilli chopped
- 1 pinch sugar
- as per taste Rock salt/sendha namak
- 2 tsp ghee/oil
- 1 handful green coriander
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp peanuts crushed (optional)
Instructions to make to make Farali Moriya With Aloo Sabji
- For moraiyo:- wash and drain the grains.
- In a pan heat the oil or ghee add cumins and curry leaves along with green chillies, potatoes and let them cook.
- And saute for 3-4 minutes add tha samo and stir for a few seconds.
- Now add boiling water and ground peanut if using it.
- Stir well add rock salt cover and lower the heat. Keep checking and stirring so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
- When all the water evaporates it's done, mix well.
- For aloo sabji:- Now take clove cinnamon powder crush it to get a fine powder.
- Heat oil in a pan medium heat. Once hot add cumin seeds let them sizzle.
- Then add sesame seeds they will start to pop. Add clove and cinnamon powder.
- Saute green chillies for few seconds add cubed potatoes and mix well.
- Add crushed peanuts, salt and sugar mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Lastly add squeeze fresh lemon juice and stir. Sprinkle chopped cilantro. Turn off the stove.
- Serve moraiyo with aloo sabji and buttermilk.
