  1. 2 cups Leftover raw / boiled rice
  2. 1 Onion medium finely chopped
  3. 5-6 Garlic cloves finely chopped
  4. 3 Whole red chillies
  5. 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  6. 1 tsp Coriander leaves
  7. 1.5 tsp Mustard oil / vegetable oil
  8. 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste

Steps to make to make Bhuna bhaat (garlic fried rice)

  1. Heat a heavy bottom kadhai on high flame then add oil in it.
  2. Heat oil till smoke comes out then reduce flame on low.
  3. Break chillies into pieces if you like spicy food. Put chillies, cumin seeds in oil one by one and fry for a minute or cumin seeds colour change into pink.
  4. Now first add garlic cloves fry for 30 seconds then add chopped onion and stir very well. Increase heat on medium flame.
  5. Add salt and fry onion for 2 minutes or till pink colour. Stir in between to prevent from burning.
  6. Now it's time to add rice in kadhai. Stir several times so that salted onion will coated evenly on rice.
  7. Sprinkle 2 tbsp water on rice, stir very well then cover it with lid and cook for another 2 minutes on low flame. Stir atleast thrice while cooking with lid.
  8. Remove lid :Sprinkle coriander leaves and stir well. Switch off the gas stove.
  9. Hot, yummy and easy food is ready to serve. Serve it with pickle and any vegetable of your choice.
  10. Do take care while adding salt ; add less salt if you are using boiled rice.
